I'm an illustrator, doodler, designer, and dad-joke maker from Kansas City, MO. I'm crazy about making art that evokes an emotional response, tells a story, and makes people smile.

I grew up with an incredibly creative and encouraging family despite outside appearances. My dad, whose workshop fills up TWO large garages, was always woodworking or making something out of glass, metal, duct tape, or worse, beef. He’s a DIY kinda guy, always teaching himself something new. My mom, an accountant (who swears accounting can actually be creative without being illegal) was always my own personal cheerleader, even encouraging me to major in something as lucrative as music. I really owe it all to them—without that combo I’d probably be working at the DMV and doodling moustaches on people’s driver’s licenses.

I consider myself a late bloomer in terms of art and design. My dad's fearlessness in pursuing many hobbies taught me that I could learn anything I wanted to and ultimately led to a career in design, where I couldn't be happier.

I currently spend my days as a Senior Designer at Hallmark Cards and I fill my evenings with painting, illustrations, children's books, cut paper, collage, lettering, and anything else my heart desires.
